About Baulkham Hills Physical Culture Club
Baulkham Hills Physical Culture Club was opened in 1999 by Debbie West and her sister Leanne Henderson following increased enquiry rates about Physie lessons in the Hills area. Leanne headed overseas and Debbie continued to teach this ever-growing club and is now ably assisted by her daughter, Courtney. The club has grown from just 11 members in its inaugural year to over 135 members.
Debbie West (Nee Henderson) began her Physie career in 1961 as a 5 year old at Fairfield Club when the Edith Parson’s School of Physical Culture first formed. Her teachers were Mrs Anne Johanson (Mrs “Jo”) and Mrs Norma Sullivan. Debbie and her mum Margaret were two of the first students enrolled in the club.
Sadly, Mrs Johanson was diagnosed with a terminal illness and in 1980, she asked Debbie to assist her with teaching. After Mrs Jo’s retirement in 1981, Debbie became the full time instructress for Fairfield City Physical Culture Club, a role she still continues in today

As with Fairfield, Baulkham Hills Physical Culture Club is now an extremely well respected club within the Edith Parsons School, and along with the professional teaching & competition environment, the club fosters family bonding & support systems for its many members.
Baulkham Hills Physical Culture Club offers quality "Mother/Daughter Moments" throughout the physie year in this sport that can accommodate three-four generations of members all participating in similar activities.
Mother/Daughter camps are held every second year along with many other social opportunities for the extended family.
Debbie is extremely proud of all of her members, & delights in the achieving of "personal bests" by so many of her girls & ladies. She is also fiercely proud of her family's 50 year association with the school & vows to continue to support the sport she loves for many years to come.
Together Debbie and Courtney have a wonderful history of success in Champion Girl.
